Probably spending your birthday in the hospital receiving chemotherapy is no one’s idea of fun…but….at least I can celebrate another birthday
Speaking of celebrating…. received the results of the MRI that was done yesterday. What a GREAT birthday present!!
I am currently considered in” Partial Response” with the outlook of “Complete Response”.
Next step is the ultrasound and CT scan on September 14th to check out the other areas/masses.
If all goes well, I should finish my every other week hospital stays/treatments in October. In November, I will then start monthly treatments/stays which will last through May of 2021.
I learned a little more about my treatment while here this time. I first receive a medication that goes through my body and “finds all the cancer cells” and “highlights” them. I then receive the chemotherapy drug which searches out the highlighted cells to kill them. The next step is to take a medicated fluid to flush out the chemotherapy medication as having it in my body runs the risk that it will start killing off good cells. Interesting huh???!!!
I think I am getting to be a “frequent flyer” around here as most of the staff know me by name. I am blessed that they are all a wonderful group!!!
I hope everyone reading this is feeling blessed today. Take time for yourself!! Take time to reach out to someone else and let them know that you care!
