Since it has been a while, let me catch you up…
I finished my 8th treatment and now I go for treatment once every 4 weeks (instead of every other week). My last treatment will be in June of 2021. I should have a CT of my lungs again in March/April of 2021.
It has been so wonderful to be home for 4 weeks!!!!! I used to not even unpack when I was going every other week, so today, I have to really pack again. I go back to Portland for another treatment tomorrow.
During this stay home, two significant things happened….
1. I had my thyroid biopsy. Interesting experience. The doctor took three samples and had to “dig” to get them. Best part, the results came back as benign. YIPPEE!!!!!!
2. I went back to work. It was so great to see everyone again. Saw a couple co-workers I have not seen since March.
I have said that being diagnosed with lymphoma cancer has certainly resulted in me re-evaluating my life/priorities and that process continues.
I am interested if being home for 4 weeks will impact my emotional state of being back and staying at the hospital for a week.
My blessing with being at the hospital has been the wonderful nurses and medical staff. They really do care. And, although you cannot visit with other patients, the words of encouragement or “thumbs-up” as you pass, in the hallway, is incredibly supportive!!
I continue to be thankful and feel very blessed for the support I have at home!!!!
Everyone take care of yourself and give grace to others!!
